Bladder health, pelvic floor and core workshop:

Learn how pelvic floor function and lifestyle habits impact bladder health. Registered Physiotherapist and Pelvic Floor Specialist Jodi Ganton and Certified Yoga Instructor Melissa Krieger will teach you how to use yoga, exercise and lifestyle modifications to help you take back control of your bladder.

Bladder dysfunction, including urinary incontinence, is an extremely common problem and most people can eliminate or significantly reduce their symptoms with some basic pelvic floor exercises, as well as diet and lifestyle modifications.

Jodi Ganton is a registered physiotherapist who specializes in working with people with pelvic floor dysfunction. For the past thirteen of Jodi’s twenty five years as a clinical physiotherapist she have been assessing and treating clients with urinary incontinence. In this time, she has come to realize that general knowledge about bladder health is quite limited and if many of her clients had had prior access to this knowledge they would not have had to take medication, had surgery or even needed to see her at all.


New Exercise: What is ELDOA?

ELDOA is a revolutionary technique created by renowned French Osteopath Dr. Guy Voyer.

ELDOA is a French acronym which means: Etirements Longitudinaux avec Decoaptation OsteoArticulaire. The english translation is Longitudinal Osteo-Articular Decoaptation of the Spine.

Dr Voyer first created ELDOA to address the back pain epidemic. What he also discovered was that patients were experiencing improved visceral function as well as a greater sense of wellbeing.

ELDOA are postural exercises designed to create space between a chosen articulation. There is a specific ELDOA for every level in the spine as well as ELDOA’s for the pelvis, sacrum, shoulders, sternum and ribcage and skull. Seeing as we are all subject to gravity and its effects, this is a wonderful practice to learn. For instance, if you’re suffering from a disc compression at L5-S1, there is a specific posture that addresses that level in the spine. If you did this specific ELDOA every day for 1 minute per day over time and with continued practice you would see the results of improved function at that level. The way this is achieved is by creating fascial tension to fix the vertebra below and contraction in extreme range to normalize the vertebra above the targeted disc.
